Practical hosting guides: reseller, .it domains, migration and cloud
Step-by-step guides for agencies and businesses that run sites, domains and infrastructure: what to do, in which order and how to verify the result. Each guide is published only after an engineer's review; below are the first ones coming up, organised by category.
Published guides
Technical guides checked against official sources, updated when rules and versions change.
Register a .it Domain: Requirements for Non-EU Applicants
You can register a .it domain only with citizenship, residence or a registered office in the EU, the wider European Economic Area, Switzerland, San Marino, Vatican City or the United Kingdom, and individuals must be adults. The UK has been explicitly eligible since version 8.0 of the Registry's Regulation (2022). A company based only in the US, or anywhere else outside that list, cannot hold a .it in its own name.

PHP 8.2 End of Life on 31 Dec 2026: WordPress Upgrade Plan
PHP 8.2 reaches end of life on 31 December 2026: after that date the PHP project ships no more security fixes for the 8.2 branch. Your site will not go down on 1 January, but any vulnerability found afterwards stays unpatched. For most WordPress sites the sensible move is PHP 8.4, supported until 31 December 2028, tested on staging first with a rollback plan ready.

White Label Hosting for Agencies: A Practical Guide
White label hosting lets your agency sell hosting under its own name and invoice, while a provider runs the infrastructure behind the scenes. It works when you pick the right model (WHM reseller, managed multi-account or dedicated cloud), protect client relationships in the contract, and price in the support time, not just the plan cost.

WordPress Migration Checklist for Minimal Downtime
To migrate a WordPress site with minimal downtime, lower your DNS TTL days in advance, copy the files and database, fix URLs with a serialisation-safe search-replace, and test the new server through your hosts file before touching DNS. Keep the old host running until its traffic drops to zero: that is your rollback plan.

Backup vs Restore: RPO, RTO, the 3-2-1 Rule and Testing
A backup is a copy of your data; a restore is proof that you can bring the site back from that copy, complete, within a time you actually know. Until you have restored it, a backup is an assumption: you need written RPO and RTO targets, separate copies following the 3-2-1 rule and a periodic restore test with measured timings.

WHM Reseller vs Multi-Site Hosting: What Agencies Get
A genuine WHM/cPanel reseller gives you least-privilege WHM access to create a separate cPanel account for each client, within written quotas. Multi-site hosting usually means several sites inside one account, or accounts that only the provider can create. Before you buy, check three things: one account per client, an ACL profile without root or All Features, and quotas you can actually read.

Domain Transfer Auth Code: Unlock, 60-Day Rule and Timing
To transfer a domain you need three things: the domain unlocked, the auth code (also called EPP code) from your current registrar, and no 60-day restriction in play, such as after registration, a previous transfer or a change of registrant on generic TLDs. A .com typically moves within five calendar days; a .it completes within a day, but its expiry date restarts from the transfer date. DNS and email keep working unless the old registrar hosts your DNS.

SPF, DKIM and DMARC Explained: A Plain-English Guide
SPF lists the servers allowed to send mail for your domain, DKIM signs each message, and DMARC checks that at least one of them passes for the domain shown in the From address, then tells receivers what to do when it doesn't. Gmail and Yahoo have required all three from bulk senders since 2024, and Outlook.com since May 2025; for everyone else they are the baseline for inbox placement and for making your domain harder to spoof. Setup takes a few hours, but DMARC should reach p=reject in stages, guided by its reports.
